Dr. Maidana is a physicist and research engineer with 15+ years of international experience in research, design and development. His experience spans cross disciplinary projects covering the whole design and development cycle: concept studies, design, modeling, simulation, fabrication, testing and optimization using different theoretical, computational and experimental techniques as well as managing working groups and test facilities.
Dr. Maidana can integrate, develop and coordinate different types of knowledge and techniques that the modern cross-disciplinary projects requires. Dr. Maidana was a research designer in projects for the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), the U.S. Department Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Department of Defense, the International Committee for Future Accelerators (ICFA), for the Advanced Fuel Cycle Initiative (AFCI) and for the Measurements and Control Engineering Research Center (MCERC).
He has 15+ years of experience in computational engineering sciences (design, modeling and simulation – CAD/CAE/CAM) and multi-physics analysis. Experience on large international projects. More than 20 years of experience in Informatics & Communications Technology (ICT), 20+ papers and technical articles. He is a referee for international scientific journals and government organizations as well as for funding bodies and he is a contributor and consultant for the scientific-technical media.
Dr. Maidana is a senior member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) serving at the Future & Nuclear Flight Propulsion Technical Committee and he serves as a scientific officer for the Mars Society Switzerland. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the American Physical society (APS) and the Project Management Institute (PMI).
